Men’s designer clothes – where’s your individuality?

§ April 30th, 2012 § Filed under Uncategorized § No Comments

The wide range of men’s designer clothes available today means that you can assert your style with confidence.

Do your clothes define who you are? Are you only comfortable in certain labels? Do you feel the need to add the latest designs to your wardrobe? If so, you’re among the millions of men across the world who have embraced men’s designer clothes and are helping the industry to grow.

Design individuality

True designer fashion automatically gives you individuality because it’s made in such small quantities. Not everyone can afford to pay for true haute couture, however, which is why designers and labels have branched out into larger, more affordable collections. Yet, by mixing and matching men’s designer clothes, you can create an individual look that reflects your personality.

Denim

Denim is a stable of most wardrobes and is a particular favourite with many men’s designers. Designer jeans are always well-made, so even with no labels or embellishments, they look better than the average high-street versions. Designers like Ted Baker and Evisu, the denim specialist, are great choices for both everyday and smart jeans.

Tailoring

Tailored shirts look great, whether you’re wearing them under a jacket for a smart look, or over jeans on a more casual occasion. If you can afford to, it’s worth getting a shirt specifically tailored, which many men’s designers will do for you. If not, choosing a designer tailored shirt is the next best thing, as the quality of the workmanship always shows and wearing it will give you lots of confidence.

T-shirts and jumpers

Designer t-shirts and jumpers account for a large percentage of men’s designer clothes. Most designers, including Lyle and Scott, Hugo Boss, Evisu and Ted Baker produce a wide range of great-looking t-shirts that can be layered with jumpers, shirts or jackets for a fantastic designer look.

Shoes and accessories

There have always been key designers for female shoes, and men’s shoes are catching up fast. Complete your wardrobe with both smart and casual shoes that fit well, look great and are long-lasting. Men’s designer clothes also benefit from tasteful accessories – whether it’s a scarf in winter, a bag for work, sunglasses, cufflinks or Cartier watches for sale. There’s no shortage of choice, so you should be able to assert your individuality with no problem – and if you’re shopping online, you can do it in your dressing gown.

Shoes, Boots and Trainers for all Occasions

§ April 19th, 2012 § Filed under Uncategorized § Tagged § No Comments

Ensure that you have a varied selection of styles, colours and designs for the ultimate collection of shoes, boots and trainers for every occasion.

Everyday Shoes, Boots and Trainers

Everyone’s wardrobe should contain at least one pair of everyday shoes, boots or trainers. The styles of footwear you choose depend on your normal everyday activities however; different styles should have one factor in common, comfort. When choosing a good pair of shoes, boots or trainers for every day use it is essential to favor comfort rather than style. Sky scraper heels although fashionable will not get you far when taking the kids to school. Flat shoes or trainers are ideal to throw on when doing little jobs like the weekly food shop or walking the dog in the park.

Seasonal Walks

Never underestimate a good pair of winter boots. These are undoubtedly the ultimate accessory for a romantic walk in the park on a cold day. Pair them with jeans and a warm coat for a casual look. When searching for the perfect pair of winter boots take into account the different materials on offer. Ideally the boots need to be hard wearing to survive bad weather conditions and take you through the seasons. A good pair of trainers can go a long way when it comes to long walks through the countryside. Trainers are a good option for both men and women if you don’t want to ruin your other shoes by walking in the mud.

Bars and Clubs

While it is a good thing to stand out when you are on a night out sometimes it can be beneficial to blend into the background. Don’t stand out for the wrong reasons by choosing the wrong footwear. To embark on a night out with inappropriate shoes is a mistake made by many. Heels that are too high can be a bad choice if you need to walk from one bar to another and can also be dangerous if you cannot walk in them properly. Browse the dressier styles of shoes, boots and trainers for the appropriate choice of footwear to match your outfit. Trainers tend not to be the best choice for a night on the town; although they are a popular choice for men, many venues deem them too casual.

Wedding

Many people tend to buy new shoes for occasions such as weddings. This can be for a variety of reasons however; the most common reason is due to buying a new outfit and finding none of their shoes a close enough match. Go for an elegant style that is formal yet feminine in shades that compliment your outfit.

Alternative to Shoes – Trainers That Look the Part

§ April 19th, 2012 § Filed under Uncategorized § Tagged § No Comments

Footwear that looks the part can sometimes be uncomfortable, but now there is a smart alternative to shoes – trainers that look and feel great.

For both men and women, smart shoes and dress shoes can be extremely uncomfortable – but the reality is, they really do look the part. Smart shoes can complete an outfit and turn something that’s middle-of-the-road into something totally formal. But is there another alternative to smart shoes?

Trainers have evolved in the shoe world and have stormed into the current shoe market, armed and ready to make some changes in the way that people decorate their feet. In the twenty first century, our feet really do benefit from being decorated and shoes, trainers and boots are making up a big section of the fashion industry.

Foot health and purchasing footcare products has never been more important, so trainers are rising to the surface as the smart choice for those who want to put comfort first.

Shoes, Trainers and Women

Women, in particular have witnessed the high street’s growing number of shoe shops. These specialist and modern shoe shops offer styles which oppose the standard styles seen in conventional shoe shops. With women’s shoes, the high street and the internet has seen an ever-expanding variety in shoes including stiletto heels, platform heels, wedges, sandals, flat shoes, trainers, boots and footwear that is just pure innovation.

The styles that we see today incorporate the styles of modern living, interesting fabrics and details that make shoes unique and eye-catching. For both men and women, fashion has dictated how other people look at feet – and it is very true that people really do look at your shoes.

Trainers That Look the Part

Whether you’re looking for shoes, trainers or boots, shoe shops today offer such varied collections that you don’t usually come out with what you went in for. Maybe you will walk out with something completely different, or maybe you will walk out with exactly what you were looking for, and more! For shoes, trainers and all other footwear, you will almost always find something that has the features that you have in mind, and with the arrival of e-commerce, there is now an even bigger market for shoes.

Trainers have evolved into something of a fashion statement, with extraordinary fabrics, intricate designs and pioneering concepts. Trendy trainers give sore feet a much needed break from shoes, look less formal and are versatile enough to be worn with most outfits. Trainers have developed into a smart alternative to dress shoes.

Trainers – Looking After Your Feet

Shoes, trainers and fashion footwear are seen as accessories and are often chosen because of the way they look. But comfort is also an important factor and we should all take better care of our feet.

Foot care has never been so prominent in the retail sector as shops selling shoes, trainers and fashion footwear also dedicate entire sections to shoe and foot care.

If you want to take care of your feet, then buy some fashionable yet comfortable trainers.

Trainers and Brands – What’s in a Name

§ April 19th, 2012 § Filed under Uncategorized § Tagged § No Comments

When it comes to trainers, brands rule – wearing the right brand can speak volumes about your status, your lifestyle and your beliefs.

When it comes to wearing the right brand of trainers, it’s all about identity. Brands are crucial to many components of culture and certain brands of trainers are more than cultural accessories, they’re an extension of ‘personal philosophies’. Wearing the right trainers is such a central part of culture and fashion that a film examining social poverty was called ‘Wearing the Wrong Trainers’.

Trainers – Brand Management

Brands such as Nike, Adidas and K-Swiss are built on their association with sports. Then there are more indy identities such as skateboarders who cultivate an action adventure image with brands like Converse All Stars UK, Globe and Vans. A brand builds on a sense of lifestyle or aspiration so it carries specific associations or aspirational qualities. The brand experience or brand image many trainers create is built from the expectations consumers have of their trainers. If certain people wear a brand of trainers it can make them more desirable – for instance, if celebrities or athletes back a particular brand, it can trigger a new obsession with trainers and shoes. The Ugg boot is a typical example of a brand that become a must-have shoe after reams of celebrities were snapped wearing the brand.

Trainers and Shoes – An Aspirational Choice

Brands and trainers work by promoting the feeling that the trainers offer something unique or special, distinguishing the trainers from all the others on offer in the marketplace. Brand management taps into image and advertising to project a certain identity – branding campaigns and advertising costs can command huge budgets (taken to its extreme, advertising can ensure someone spends £25 on a t-shirt that only cost £1 to make). But trainers and brand image can add important value – suggesting high quality, or good performance, as well as stylish design.
Trainers and brands are now interchangeable – an essential part of our modern consumer culture. As trainers are so associated with adventure, sport and street wear, trainers are huge expressions of identity for cultures all over the world. Brands like Converse tap into what’s known as ‘attitude branding’ that can tap into a larger feeling – a successful trainers brand like Converse will prompt you to do your best in sports for example. A successful brand will make you feel the kind of shoes or trainers you wear really matters, and makes a difference.

Designer Glasses Specs Appeal

§ April 19th, 2012 § Filed under Uncategorized § Tagged § No Comments

Designer glasses have revolutionised the image of glasses as geeky: specs are now sexy!

Designer glasses have transformed how we see the world – and how the world sees glasses. Once the domain of the geek, the library-skulking, train-spotting stereotyped nerd – designer glasses have transformed how the world sees the visually challenged. In fact, Britney Spears is now in the charts – not for her music – but for being voted the sexiest glasses-wearing celebrity. Designer glasses signify strength and sassiness. For women, it’s Richard Gere that they can’t take their eyes off – the film star regularly tops the top sexy spectacle-sporting celeb lists.

Designer Glasses a Turn on

It’s no wonder so many of us are star-struck by designer glasses with the likes of Gere and Spears peering over the rims of their glasses. In fact, a survey in America revealed that glasses can in fact indicate a sex symbol. Around three-quarters of people surveyed felt glasses don’t affect attractiveness and the majority disagreed with the idea that glasses can be a turn off. In fact, designer glasses can make you look sophisticated, polished, sexy and stylish.

It’s in your Eyes

Designer glasses became the must-have fashion accessory as TV’s Ugly Betty sparked a craze for the statement specs. Fashion magazines have reported that women who love fashion are ditching their contact lenses and donning a pair of designer glasses or ‘Betty specs’. Designer glasses can be sexy, as TV characters and celebrities prove time and time again. But surveys also show that people who wear glasses are perceived to be smart and sophisticated. Professions most associated with designer glasses are the bohemian, arty, scientific or professional careers including librarians, teachers, lawyers, artists and musicians and actors and film stars. It isn’t just the eyes that have it – it’s the designer glasses too. Studies also show, that although designer glasses are cool, sexy and sophisticated, out-of-date glasses, or glasses dubbed ‘NHS glasses’ are seen as ugly; big plastic frames provoke a stereotype of the geeky and the nerdy.

Designer Glasses – the Specs Debate

The debate about glasses and specs appeal is on-going, with everyone from fashion stylists to pop stars getting involved: Ronan Keating once said “I think glasses can be sexy sometimes on people,” – wise words from the man who was voted Spectacle Wearer of the Year, even though he doesn’t even wear glasses! He explained: “I used to wear glasses that were clear, because I like that kind of big, thick-rimmed glasses look. I think it looks cool, and it was just a fashion thing, you know? It’s a very bizarre award. I deserved to win it!”

Prescription Sunglasses Protect Children’s Eyes

§ April 19th, 2012 § Filed under Uncategorized § Tagged § No Comments

Every child on holiday needs to have prescription sunglasses, as their eyes are extra sensitive to harmful UV rays coming from the sun.

Every parent’s dream is to see their child playing peacefully in the sunshine – be it on the beach, in a park or even just in the back garden. But what most parents don’t realise is just how damaging the sun can be to a young person’s eyes. Reaching for the factor 30 sunscreen is one thing, but only prescription sunglasses can stop the Ultraviolet (UV) rays from permanently damaging their eyesight.

World Health Organisation Recommends Prescription Sunglasses

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), up to 80 percent of a person’s exposure to UV happens in the first 18 years of their life. Any parent will testify that children young and old love being outdoors. But children without prescription sunglasses are in fact more at risk from UV radiation than adults because the lenses of their eyes are more transparent, which allows more short wavelength light to reach the retina.

UV damage to the eyes is cumulative, meaning it builds over time. UV exposure has been linked to cataracts, macular degeneration and other eye problems.

Eye Health Charity Calls for More Prescription Sunglasses

Prevent Blindness America has declared the month of May to be ‘UV Awareness Month.’ This means educating youngsters on the dangers of looking directly at the sun, and reminding them to always wear their prescription sunglasses when outdoors during the sunny months.
Our trusty sunglasses can block out at least 99 percent of both UVA and UVB radiation, so they are always highly recommended. Parents should make sure that the prescription sunglasses fit their child’s face properly so they are able to shield the sun’s rays from all directions.

Stylish Eye Protection – All the Rage in Canada
Even countries as stereotypically wintery as Canada want more awareness on the importance of wearing suitable eye protection.

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind, (CNIB) recommends that children and young adults should wear prescription sunglasses and a hat with a brim for protection. The CNIB has declared that Thursday May 27th will be ‘Shades of Fun Day.’ This event is asking people across the country to put on their best shades for the day in the fight against UV rays.
